Sunraysia Volleyball Hits the Beach!
On Sunday 3 August 2025, over 40 Sunraysia Volleyball members came together to celebrate a big moment — our first ever beach volleyball day at the brand-new courts at the Mildura Sports Precinct. Under clear blue skies and winter sunshine, members young and old braved the chill for a day of fun, laughs and great volleyball.
New Courts, New Opportunities
These purpose-built courts have been a long time coming, with championship-grade sand and top-notch facilities. They’ll be a game changer for our club, offering new ways to train, compete, and connect. Sunday’s event was more than just a hit-out — it marked the start of something special. A huge thanks to Brad Leersen, Tara Martin, Brock Nokes, Regan Taylor, Carli Leishman, James Hancock (stadium manager) and everyone else who helped make it happen!
A Warm Day Despite the Cold
Members arrived rugged up, coffees in hand, ready to shake off the winter chill. As the day went on, jackets came off, games got competitive, and laughter echoed across the courts. Whether people were experienced or totally new to the game, there was a place for everyone. Music played, matches ran, and smiles were everywhere.
What’s Next?
With the success of Sunday’s event, we’re excited to launch regular beach volleyball programs this spring — including training clinics, social games, and weekly comps.
“This is just the beginning.”
